SAFETY TOWN

The School Liaison Officer participates with the Thiensville Police Department in presenting Safety Town, a two-week course for kindergarten-age children.  Safety Town teaches the youngsters about school bus safety, traffic signals and crosswalks, and fire safety. 

The topics covered in the program include:  juvenile laws, a K-9 demonstration, evidence processing, defense and arrest tactics, internet safety, and fire department demonstrations including utilizing the Jaws of Life to take a car apart.  The very successful program includes active participation from students.
