MEQUON POLICE DEPARTMENT
2012 CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY
 
The Mequon Police Department is pleased to announce the dates for its 2012 Citizens’ Police Academy. 
 
The academy is six weeks in length and meets on Thursday evenings from approximately 6pm to 9pm.  The academy begins on February 23rd, 2012 and ends on Thursday March 29th, 2012.
 
Classes are held at the Mequon Police Department and are free of charge to Mequon/Thiensville residents and employees of Mequon/Thiensville businesses.
 
Academy participants receive an inside look into the Mequon Police Department.  Participants receive hands on training and class demonstrations on a wide variety of police topics. 
 
Topics include; Defense and arrest tactics, use of a taser, operating while intoxicated detection, mock traffic stops, drug recognition, and firearms training.
 
The police department’s K-9 unit will make a presentation showcasing “K-9 Vero” and his abilities.
 
Class size is limited to 20 participants.
