The Mequon Police Department is staffed with seven full-time and three part-time dispatcher positions.  An intensive three-month training period prepares a dispatcher for the rigorous and stressful tasks required in handling emergency situations.

The dispatch center continues to be the catalyst of the department by answering all calls for service (including 911 emergency calls); dispatching squads to assignments; dispatching rescue, ambulance, and fire equipment; entering data into the records management system; greeting people at the lobby window; handling numerous open records requests; receiving payments for citations, burning permits, weapons discharge permits, etc.; citizen questions; and typing officer reports.  They continue to do a phenomenal job, considering all that is asked of them.
