The Mequon Police Department is located in the Mequon Safety Building at 11300 N. Buntrock Avenue, Mequon, WI 53092.  

Twelve civilian personnel staff the lobby (open 24 hours a day).  Our administrative/non-emergency phone number is (262) 242-3500 and our fax number is (262) 242-7655.  You are invited to discuss your non-emergency or administrative-oriented matters with an on-duty command or supervisory officer.

The Mequon Police Department provides regular police service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Service is provided by 35 sworn officers and 12 civilians.  We are equipped with Emergency 911 telephone communications and provide rapid-response time by courteous, highly-trained, professional police officers.

The Mequon Police Department acknowledges and recognizes the interdependence and shared responsibilities of the police and the community in making Mequon a safe and desirable place.  Crime is a community problem, which requires a total commitment of partnership between the police and community.

The Mequon Police Department nurtures public trust by maintaining integrity and holding its members to the highest standards of performance and ethics; we are accountable to each other and to the citizens served.  We are committed to providing a quality work environment and developing staff through effective training, experience, and leadership.


You will find the Mequon Safety Building at the intersection of W. Mequon Road and N. Buntrock Avenue, on the northeast corner.  The Mequon Police share the building with the Mequon Fire Department and the Mequon Ambulance Service.  Please park in the front or on the north side of the building when you visit.  The lobby is open 24 hours a day, and civilian staff can assist you when you arrive.

A statue of Chief Thomas Buntrock stands in tribute to him in front of the safety building. Chief Buntrock was slain in the line of duty in December of 1979.  Chief Buntrock gave his life to protect a child during a hostage situation.  That child is represented by the little girl he is depicted embracing.  You will also find his portrait proudly displayed in the police department lobby.
